Friendsville Maryland is located in the North-Western part of Garrett County.  Friendsville received its name from an early European settler named John Friend, who came to the area before the Revolutionary War.

The exquisite Youghiogheny River flows through the town providing a hot spot for white water rafting, fishing, and kayaking. Friendsville has cool mountainous summers and winters are a great escape for any snow enthusiast. Temperatures have reached a record high of 92 degrees and lows can reach the negatives.

Friendsville is a small town with huge charm. Friendsville seems far enough away, yet close enough from everything. Friendsville is 45 minutes from West Virginia University, 3 hours from Washington D.C. and 2 hours from Pittsburgh, PA.
